Katori Shinto Ryu Bokken Beech wood | Katori Bokuto | Handmade Bokken

Bokkens are too long. For Katori Shinto Ryu should be shorter.
On your website you have two different lenghts given. One in single bokken ( Overall Length 103 cm.), other in katori weapons set with yari (- Katori Bokken Daito Beechwood - 97 cm).
The one in set is proper, but you realise the one mentioned in bokken, wich is too long (even longer than a traditional bokken, while katori bokkens are a little shorter). I didn't noticed that before, thought all are in 97 cm, while i received all 103.

Despite that bokkens are from good wood, with very nice quality and I am very happy i bought them. Could you please inform me, if the length would be changed to 97?

Wood is not laquered, and is soft for Katori purposes. Quality is fine, but needs a bit of handiwork to truly shine.

un bokken perfetto , legno leggerissimo , ben bilanciato , comodo al contatto sembra fatto da uno dei più grandi craftmen giapponesi...consigliatissimo!!

The boken is nicely done, shaped with care, good balance, good craftmanship. Comes in row wood, no treatment on it. It is beech wood, it does not splinter, yet that doesn't mean it is unbreakable... it will get scratches and bumps, so it depends of your practice. Also, it is very light, which also depends of everyone's taste or preference. A very nice piece, overall.

Il bokken in se è molto bello e ben rifinito, tuttavia ho visto che rispetto a quelli in quercia dei miei compagni questo tende ad ammaccarsi di più e dopo due settimane di pratica malgrado non avesse ricevuto colpi eccessivi si è scheggiato nella parte corrispondente al mune. La scheggia l'ho subito ribattuta con un martello ed è scomparsa ma visto che questi bokken vengono pubblicizzati per la loro resistenza alla scheggiatura non ho fatto gradito l'accaduto, spero che in futuro non si riverifichi.
